Kate Nance

Kate focuses her practice on estate planning, special needs planning, guardianships, probate, and Medicaid qualification. She is a past chair of the Elder Law Section of the Utah State Bar.

Kate is passionate about issues facing vulnerable adults and has developed training for law enforcement, prosecutors, and social workers to recognize and respond to elder abuse, particularly elder financial exploitation. She has trained police officers, attorneys, and social services workers throughout the state. Kate has also developed materials to educate older and vulnerable adults on protecting themselves from scams and financial exploitation.

A Salt Lake City native, Kate graduated from Westminster College. She then attended the University of California Hastings College of Law, where she was a technical editor for the Hastings Law Journal and graduated magna cum laude. Following graduation, she clerked for the Honorable Howard R. Lloyd in the Northern District of California. She is a member of the Utah State Bar.
